Project Brief

  • To design, gain planning approval and build an extension to create a first floor bathroom.
  • Other associated work to include the installation of a new boiler and bathroom suit and to tile, lay flooring and decorate.

The Process

  • Working closely with our client we designed the exact size and layout of the extension, producing drawings and gaining relevant permissions.
  • The first task involved re-routing existing pipework and cabling and ensuring safety regulations were met.
  • Scaffolding was erected to enable access to the roof and this was then stripped before the floor was installed and the dorma walls built.
  • After knocking through into the existing house we ensured all areas were watertight before fitting the first fix electrics and new boiler.
  • We created the openings, plastered and fixed skirting and doors before making alterations to the ceilings in the existing bedrooms.
  • A major part of this project was the installation of a high-end bathroom suit and floor to ceiling tiling.

The Result

  • The result was a brand new luxury bathroom featuring a bath, separate shower and counter top basin.
  • The new, efficient boiler gave much improved central heating and hot water and the extension also created an extra room on the ground floor.
  • As a result, the exterior has been improved and the value of the property increased.
