Northampton Loft Conversion with Dormer Design & Build
Project Brief
To design and get planning permission for a loft conversion with dormer to the front elevation to provide an ensuite bedroom.
To complete all work on the loft conversion.
The Process
ATJ Building & Groundworks designed and obtained planning permission for the loft conversion.
Scaffolding was erected so the work could be accessed and carried out without unnecessary disturbance to the clients.
The chimney stack was taken down to maximise the loft space and the floor structure, dormer, Velux roof lights were installed and roof made water tight before the stair case was fitted for the loft accessed through the house.
All of the electrical and plumbing work was installed out by ATJ’s approved contractors
The loft was then insulated as per building regulations divided up in to the client’s desired layout to provide a master bedroom, en suite and storage to the eves of the roof.
The en suite bathroom was then fitted out by the clients preferred bathroom fitters, doors, skirting and architrave fixed ready for the client to decorate.
ATJ Building & Groundworks then changed the existing doors to the property to fire doors to meet building regulations
ATJ managed all aspects of the project, including liaising with structural engineers, building control and managing various sub-contractors.
The Result
The completed project provided a spacious master bedroom with ensuite increasing the value of the property as well as giving the clients an extra bedroom to suit their family needs.
